Music Teacher (Halton Hills)

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and faith-minded Music Teacher to inspire students through the joy and discipline of music. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching music to children and youth, creating engaging lessons, and fostering confidence, creativity, and musical growth in a supportive Christian learning setting. This role involves working with students of various ages and skill levels, with a particular focus on youth development. Duties - Develop and implement engaging music lessons tailored to different age groups, skill levels, and learning styles - Teach individual and group music lessons in a way that is encouraging, structured, and age-appropriate - Foster a positive, inclusive, and faith-based learning environment where students feel safe to participate and grow - Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their musical development - Prepare students for performances, recitals, worship-related opportunities, or assessments where appropriate - Organize classroom activities that encourage active participation, creativity, and collaboration - Collaborate with parents, staff, and other educators to support student success - Incorporate foundational music skills for younger learners, including rhythm, singing, movement, listening, and basic instrument exploration - Encourage students to develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, and joy through music - Engage in ongoing professional development related to music education, teaching strategies, and youth-focused learning Skills and Qualifications - Proven experience teaching music to children and youth - Strong ability to work with students across different ages, personalities, and skill levels - A commitment to supporting a Christian, faith-based educational environment - Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inspiring and respectful learning atmosphere - Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs and learning styles - Effective communication skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues - Creative approach to lesson planning, including interactive activities, performance opportunities, and student-led exploration - Experience with early childhood or elementary music education is an asset - Ability to encourage students not only musically, but also personally, socially, and spiritually within a Christian school context This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young students through music education.
