Psychotherapist / Social Worker (Hamilton) Independent Contractor | Approximately 15–20 Hours/Week About First Step Men’s Therapy First Step Men’s Therapy (FSMT) is a growing Ontario-based psychotherapy practice dedicated to helping men and couples reconnect with themselves and others in a safe, supportive, and grounded environment. We specialize in areas that are often underserved in traditional settings, including: - Compulsive sexual behaviour and pornography use - Substance misuse and addictive patterns - Trauma and shame-based narratives - Relationship and intimacy concerns - Anxiety, grief, and sexual dysfunction Our team values authenticity, integrity, professionalism, collaboration, and accountability—and we are intentional about building a culture where both clients and therapists can do meaningful work. We are primarily seeking Registered Psychotherapists (RP – Independent Practice) and Registered Social Workers (RSW) in good standing with their respective colleges. RP (Qualifying) applicants nearing independent practice may also be considered for the right fit. Practice Locations We currently offer in-person therapy services at the following Ontario locations: - Toronto - Ottawa - Oshawa - York Region (Thornhill / Markham) Beginning June 2026, FSMT will be opening its fifth office location in Hamilton. This role is primarily in-person, with opportunities for hybrid virtual work over time. Who You Are You are a grounded, relational, and emotionally intelligent therapist who values both clinical autonomy and collaboration. You are comfortable supporting men navigating trauma, addiction, intimacy concerns, shame, anxiety, grief, and relationship difficulties. You bring professionalism, consistency, and strong clinical judgment to your work. You value feedback, accountability, and ongoing growth, and you appreciate being part of a team environment where therapists support one another while maintaining independence in their clinical approach.
