Working within a rapid-paced, multidisciplinary engineering environment will expose the successful candidate to collaboration with all four disciplines — Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil Engineering. Reporting to the Civil Principal, you are a proactive and experienced engineering professional with strong leadership capabilities. You are passionate about water resources and municipal infrastructure design, have a solid understanding of municipal, institutional, industrial, and commercial projects, and are confident in managing teams and delivering high-quality work under pressure. You bring not only technical strength but the ability to manage projects and mentor others with professionalism and precision. Key Responsibilities - Lead water resources engineering for land development and municipal projects from concept through construction, including stormwater management (quality/quantity), drainage, grading, sanitary and storm servicing, culverts, channels, and erosion & sediment control. - Develop and calibrate hydrologic and hydraulic models (e.g., SWMM/PCSWMM, HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS; InfoWorks ICM an asset) and translate results into practical, constructible designs. - Prepare Stormwater Management Reports, Functional Servicing Reports, flood and drainage studies, and associated applications/permits (e.g., MECP ECA, Conservation Authorities). - Produce and review design drawings, details, quantities, and cost estimates in Civil 3D/AutoCAD; assemble tender documents using OPSS/OPSD and municipal standards. - Coordinate with internal structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil teams, external consultants, clients, municipalities, and Conservation Authorities. - Manage scopes, schedules, budgets, risks, and deliverables; lead meetings and maintain project documentation and quality control. - Provide construction-phase support: respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, conduct site visits/field reviews, and verify as-builts. - Mentor EITs and junior designers; contribute to team standards, LID/green infrastructure best practices, and continuous improvement. - Support proposal writing, fee estimates, and client presentations as needed. Requirements - Demonstrated experience delivering water resources and municipal servicing projects in Ontario (land development and/or municipal capital programs). - Strong understanding of stormwater management, drainage, grading, hydraulic structures, floodplain analysis, erosion control, and LID/green infrastructure. - Proficiency with Civil 3D and AutoCAD; hands-on experience with hydrologic/hydraulic software (PCSWMM/SWMM, HEC-RAS; InfoWorks ICM/EPANET/WaterGEMS an asset). - Knowledge of OPSS/OPSD, MECP guidelines, Municipal Class EA process, applicable municipal standards, and Conservation Authority policies. - Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to work under deadlines. - Valid driver’s licence; occasional travel to project sites may be required. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. - Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) in Ontario is required. - 7+ years of experience in civil/ water resource engineering, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. - Strong knowledge of Ontario standards and approvals is required.
