About the Role Dear Grain Hamilton is hiring an Experienced Baker - Sourdough to join our team. We are seeking a candidate with 1 year of relevant experience who is passionate about committing to the craft of producing high-quality artisan sourdough breads. The ideal individual is strong, caring, energetic, and self-motivated, with a keen attention to detail and a dedication to consistency. Key Responsibilities - Mix sourdough dough batches (130–300kg) - Manage fermentation and dough handling processes - Cut, scale, and shape various artisan breads - Bake bread using deck ovens - Support daily production prep as required - Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards - Restock ingredients and monitor inventory levels - Follow production schedules to meet daily volume targets - Work collaboratively with the production team to ensure quality and efficiency Qualifications - 1 year of professional bread-baking experience, preferably artisan sourdough. - Experience in commercial or high-volume bakeries is an asset; culinary or baking education preferred. - Able to lift up to 50 lbs, to safely work with equipment up to 5’ in height (including deck ovens), and perform essential physical duties safely (standing, repetitive tasks, operating bakery equipment). - Comfortable working at a production pace with sustained intensity. - Strong time management and multitasking skills; able to work independently and collaboratively. - Reliable and punctual, including for early morning shifts (6:00 AM start). - Interest in long-term growth and development within the organization. Pay & Schedule: Pay: $19.50–$21.50 per hour, based on experience Schedule - Full-Time: 30-40 hours per week - 4-5 days per week - Shifts: 6–10 hours per day - Shift start: 6:00 AM/8:00 AM - Shift end: 2:00 PM/5:00 PM - At least one weekend day required - Availability for early morning shifts (starting at 4:00 AM) is considered an asset. - We strive to provide a consistent schedule while remaining flexible to accommodate changes when needed.
