Lawyer, Insurance Defense Hamilton

Our reputable client in the legal space is currently seeking a Lawyer, Insurance Defense to join our team. This position offers the chance to work within a cooperative and well-established litigation practice. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload and work closely with experienced counsel on a variety of insurance defense matters. This role is based out of their head office in Hamilton. Key Responsibilities Independently manage a caseload of insurance defense files Conduct examinations for discovery, mediations, pre-trial conferences, and motions Represent clients in various stages of litigation Collaborate with senior counsel and colleagues on complex matters Handle matters before the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT), including case conferences and hearings Provide strategic legal advice to clients and insurers Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: 24 years of experience in insurance defense Demonstrated ability to independently manage a caseload Experience conducting discoveries, mediations, pre-trials, and motions Experience with LAT case conferences and/or hearings Small Claims Court experience is considered an asset AI may be used to support certain administrative aspects of our recruitment process.
