Description
The Medical Laboratory Professionals' Association of Ontario (MLPAO) is a not-for-profit professional association that represents the interests of its Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLT) and Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician (MLA/T) members. The MLPAO offers a collection of services and benefits and serves as the unified voice and advocates on issues that impact laboratory professionals’ of Ontario. The Director, Professional Services provides oversight of programs, certification(s), processes, and continuing education to ensure that a member-centered approach is embedded in all aspects of our association services. This position reports to the CEO. - Manages all products and services offered by the MLPAO. - Develops and implements Key Performance Indicators and metrics for all programs and services offered by the MLPAO. - Implements and executes quality management processes for MLPAO programs and services. - Participates in sourcing speakers for continuing education and events for the MLPAO. - Actively promotes the profession through a variety of forums (schools, educators). - Collaborates in all social media outlets to encourage and promote the profession. (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) - Manages the MLA/T certification exam, including question development, validation, exam form review, and monitoring of exam performance. Adheres to testing best practices and test security and protecting exam integrity from creation to distribution. - Provides subject matter expertise related to medical laboratory technology issues and topics. - Collaborates with partners (MLA/T and MLT programs laboratories, program heads) to improve programs and services to assist medical laboratory professionals. Travel is required to schools and events on an as needed basis. - Other duties as needed (administration in the office to support other staff) - be a certified Medical Laboratory Technologist and registered with a regulatory college in Canada with over 5 years’ experience with a broad knowledge of laboratory technology. (preferred) - experience with not-for-profit governance structures (preferred) - have 5-8 years’ experience ideally in a lab and not-for-profit environment. (preferred) - have experience creating/administering a high stakes exam. (preferred) - have experience creating/building/administering courses. (preferred) - have a proven track record to build strategic relationships with partners. (required) - possess the ability to leverage relationships (required) - able to manage multiple deadlines, assignments, and conflicting priorities. (required) - must be a team player with a track record of managing successful teams. (required) - in-depth knowledge and well versed in the use of social media platforms. (required) - able to work beyond standard office hours – weekends and evenings if required. Notes: This position is in Hamilton, Ontario with a hybrid work option. Salary will be commensurate based on the incumbent’s experience.
