Estimator (Hamilton)

We manage everything from water infrastructure and stormwater systems to municipal roadways, site grading, industrial maintenance, equipment rentals, and more. Role Description We are seeking an experienced Estimator. This role is critical to the successful pursuit and execution of civil construction projects within the City of Hamilton and surrounding areas. The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates while supporting project execution through scheduling, cost control, procurement coordination, and collaboration with Project Managers and field teams. This role offers: $100,000 - $120,000 salary Full Benefits Work Vehicle This is for an open vacancy. Qualifications: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for tenders, lump sum bids, and budget pricing. Review and interpret tender drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Complete quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive bid submissions. Attend pre-tender meetings and conduct site visits as required. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Identify cost risks, discrepancies, and scope gaps and communicate findings to the project team. Assist General Manager with schedule development and cost tracking. Support progress reconciliation, monthly billings, and final invoicing. Collaborate with field teams to ensure estimates align with construction execution. Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers. Performs other duties as required Requirements: 5 – 10 years of extensive experience as an estimator in the water & sewer and road building construction field, or a combination of field and estimating experience Experience in heavy civil work with particular experience in earthwork, roadwork, and underground, municipal. C. E. T. or P. Eng designation preferred; equivalent experience will be considered Experience pursuing infrastructure projects from $10-50 M Experience with B2 W is required Exceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills. Brilliant management and negotiation skills. Ability to closely collaborate with other project teams and stakeholders. Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards.
