Social Service Worker (Hamilton)

Location: Hamilton, ON Pay: Starting at $26.00 per hour Job Type: Casual Hours: 24–40 hours per week Shifts: 8-hour shifts available UPI Staffing is hiring a Social Service Worker in Hamilton, ON. UPI Staffing works with community partners to provide reliable support staff for individuals with complex care needs. Our management team understands the importance of safe, respectful, and meaningful work. This role supports individuals living with mental health conditions, acquired brain injury, substance use challenges, behavioural needs, and daily living support needs. We are looking for reliable, calm, and compassionate staff who can provide consistent support in a residential or community setting. What We Offer - Steady shift opportunities in Hamilton - Supportive management team - Meaningful work supporting individuals with complex needs Responsibilities - Support individuals with daily living tasks, routines, and personal care needs - Provide support to individuals with mental health conditions, acquired brain injury, substance use challenges, and behavioural needs - Assist with behaviour management and follow support plans - Use calm, respectful, and trauma-informed communication - Support emotional regulation, safety, and crisis prevention - Assist with meals, light housekeeping, appointments, and community activities - Support medication reminders or medication administration, depending on site requirements - Complete daily documentation, incident notes, and behaviour tracking - Work as part of a care team to provide safe and consistent support Qualifications - Diploma or certificate in one of the following is required: - Social Service Worker, Community Service Worker, Developmental Service Worker, Personal Support Worker, Child and Youth Worker, Addictions and Mental Health, or a related human services program. - Minimum 1 year of related experience supporting individuals with mental health, ABI, substance use, behavioural needs, developmental disabilities, or complex care needs. - Valid First Aid and CPR - Valid police check with vulnerable sector search, or willingness to obtain - Robust communication and documentation skills - CPI, NVCI, Safe Management, medication training, trauma-informed care, or harm reduction training considered an asset Apply Today Apply today if you have experience supporting individuals with mental health, ABI, substance use, behavioural, or complex care needs and are looking for meaningful casual work in Hamilton.
