Become a key leader in communications at Good Shepherd, enhancing public affairs and media strategies across communities in Hamilton, Niagara, and Toronto. Shape the organization’s voice and public image in this critical role. Reporting to the COO, the Director of Communications and Public Affairs will oversee a dynamic communications team while implementing strategies to advocate for the organization’s mission. This role calls for a seasoned leader with a strategic mindset to navigate crisis management and media relations. You'll also work closely with government stakeholders to bolster organized efforts aimed at making a meaningful impact. Key Responsibilities: • Lead all communications across Valuable Shepherd Centers • Develop media engagement and crisis response plans • Manage relationships with municipal, provincial, and federal stakeholders • Oversee team performance and professional development • Identify grant opportunities and lead proposal development Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in related field; Master’s preferred • Minimum 8 years in public affairs or communications • At least 5 years in a leadership role • Experience in the non-profit sector, particularly in health/social services • Strong storytelling, writing, and editing skills Help shape and lead the communications strategy at Good Shepherd to inspire and foster community engagement.
