Behavior Support and Counseling Specialist, Kamloops

As a Behavior Support and Counseling Specialist, deliver critical mental health resources for early learners. Address the behavioral needs of students in a therapeutic context while training staff across grade levels.

This role emphasizes direct intervention with students from Pre-K to 5th grade who face emotional and behavioral challenges. You will collaborate with teachers to integrate effective strategies and ensure that supportive measures are in place. Additionally, your work involves developing behavior plans and connecting students with necessary counseling services.

Key Responsibilities:• Design and implement behavior intervention plans • Train staff on best practices and therapeutic techniques • Monitor and analyze student behavioral data • Provide individual counseling to affected students • Engage with families to foster strong home-school relationships

Requirements:• Master’s degree in a relevant field required • Licensed as a Professional Counselor or Clinical Social Worker • At least three years’ experience in behavioral support • Deep knowledge of trauma-informed practices • Strong data tracking and documentation skills
