As a Maintenance Technician at Tyax Lodge&Heliskiing you will work in a small and dedicated maintenance team to maintain and improve all guest and staff areas of the resort and its grounds, including the main lodge, our campground, guest chalets, and staff accommodation, while providing exemplary customer service to our guests. The responsibilities and duties of a Maintenance Attendant include but are not limited to the following:

JOB HIGHLIGHTS

Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures

Assist with handling all engineering aspects of a full-service hotel facility including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, electrical, engineering, TV/radio, hot tub treatment, painting/wallpaper, septic system.

Assist with the on-going maintenance of the physical plant and ensure the highest standards of quality are maintained

Work towards continuous improvement and quality in all areas

Maintains safe work practices and the use of environmentally sound practices

Preventative maintenance of all areas

Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required

Complete all tasks in a timely manner within a multifunctional team environment

Assists with minor and major repairs of all buildings and building equipment (repairs are performed under the supervision of licensed maintenance workers.)

Performs outside custodial duties such as garbage and recycling removal, mowing lawns, sweeping, etc.

Assists with preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment and shop equipment on a scheduled basis such as:

inspection of belts

checking of fluid levels

replacing of filters

greasing of bearings and seals

repairing or replacing of broken parts

Cleaning and inspecting boilers

treating water with proper chemicals

Maintain a high level of professionalism, providing exceptional guest service at all points of contact

Effectively resolve guest complaints ensuring the guests’ needs are exceeded

Season opening and shutdown duties

Snow removal

Moving of furniture

QUALIFICATIONS&ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED

Trades Ticket/ Experience an asset

Valid driver's license with an excellent record of driving.

Bobcat/ skid steer experience

Experience with trailer towing

Awareness of environmentally sound practices, and commitment to this area.

Must possess excellent communications, interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills and be a team player

A passion for guest service and the proven ability for consistently anticipating guest needs

Good physical condition, as position is physically demanding

Computer skills

Operate power hand tools safely

Mechanical knowledge of motorized equipment gas and diesel

Knowledge of Propane appliances

Propane tank filling Certificate

Cleaning skills Campground Outhouses ,Showers

Hot tub chemical balancing

Septic treatment plant testing and recording and maintenance

Will be required to be on your feet for extended periods of time

Able to work independently and as a part of the team.

Will be required to be on your feet for extended periods of time

May be required to lift heavy objects, bend and reach
