Engineering Technician (Infrastructure Design) (Kawartha Lakes)

Job Description Detail design review of Engineering Drawings related to the Re-construction of Roads and Bridges Construction Inspection and Administration of the Citys Road, Bridge and Sidewalk Re-Construction Capital projects. Assist with the collection and analysis of field construction reports Assist in the survey, drafting and inspection of Capital projects Review geotechnical consultant reports Inspection of water distribution system, storm sewer, and sanitary sewer upgrades and road improvements Maintain plans, maps, drawings and other records reflecting the municipal infrastructure Collect field data for as constructed plans Perform pre-engineering and construction surveys for capital improvement projects Coordinate traffic related activities Review and prepare comments for all applications for development within the City using the Citys Standards Perform other related duties as assigned Skills/ Education Required Post-secondary diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field Minimum 2 years of related progressive experience, preferably in a municipal environment Working toward certification with the Ontario Association of Certified Technicians and Technologists Proficiency in Total Station Surveys and layout Experience in the specific area of specialty is preferred (ie. Development, Asset Mgmt., Construction, etc.), refer to area specific duties above Demonstrated professional and ethical responsibility to protect privacy, use confidential information appropriately, treat sensitive situations with appropriate degree of tact and discretion Demonstrated customer-service and interpersonal skills at a level to develop and to maintain cooperative/cooperative working relationships both within and outside the organization Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines, and the ability to deal with multiple demands Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and administrative skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to demonstrate initiative consistently with commitment to quality improvement, sharing process improvement initiatives with management Demonstrated ability to understand and abide by municipal policies and procedures Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, the internet, and any other related software Possess and maintain a valid Ontario Class G Drivers Licence, subject to use of personal vehicle as required Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2nghjf
