Mooney Supply Inc. in Kelowna, British Columbia is looking to hire one fulltime permanent Executive Chef for our restaurants located at 5350 Big White Road, Kelowna, BC, Canada V1P 1P3. The Executive Chef is responsible for the preparation of high quality meals in accordance with company standards, menu specifications and production schedules. You will also be required to oversee kitchen staff in the preparation of meals and ensuring required safety, hygiene and quality standards are met. We need an Executive Chef with excellent leadership and supervisory skills in order to maintain a high reputation. As we specialize in French cuisine it would be an added asset to have a keen knowledge of French and European cuisine.Position: Executive Chef (NOC 62200) Wage: $80,000 to $84,000.00 annual salary Location: Units 43, 44, 45- 5350 Big White Road, Kelowna, BC, Canada V1P 1P3 Number of Available Positions: One (1) Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours a week) Responsibilities
Oversee all kitchen operations including supervising, directing and training staff and cooks in the performance of their duties Professional, friendly and warm hospitality to all guests Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained to deliver quality service within budgeted labour Ensure proper safety, health, restaurant and food standards are adhered toOrganize and maintain efficient flow of production Supervise and participate in the preparation of quality cuisine Create new and exciting menu items as well as enhancing existing dishes Ensure consistency and quality of all meals created in proportion size and presentation Order and manage food costsOversee delivery and unloading of products and produce Communicate effectively with owners, management and crew members Continuously seek ways to minimize operating expenses and drive all revenue streams Build and maintain effective relationships with guests, crew members and management Efficiently resolve any problems of crew members or guestsQualifications
Successful completion of a culinary program granting a certificate, diploma or degree 3 years of culinary experience, with 1-2 years of management/supervisory experience in a kitchen environment Skills and Knowledge
Excellent ability to speak English Experience with purchasing, receiving and inventory control Strong knowledge in Microsoft Officer applications such as Word, Outlook and Excel Exceptional customer service Strong and effective communication skills Strong skills with documenting and enforcing food safety procedures and workplace safety proceduresFinancial understanding in food costs and minimizing kitchen wastage Strong time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills Ability to remain calm in stressful situations Strong leadership skills and values employee development and retention through strong performance initiatives Capability to make sound data-based business decisionsStrong technical skills and creativity Ability to create a friendly, professional environment that inspires teamwork Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays Please include your resume, references and certificates when applying by email to
