Security Guard (Kelowna)

Job Overview We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our premises. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring the property, preventing theft or damage, and maintaining a secure environment for staff and visitors. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observation skills, and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents. Prior experience in law enforcement or surveillance is highly valued, along with familiarity with CCTV systems and loss prevention strategies. Responsibilities - Conduct regular patrols of the property to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards. - Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras, to oversee all areas of the premises. - Enforce security policies and procedures to prevent theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access. - Respond promptly to alarms or emergency situations, coordinating with law enforcement if necessary. - Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and security breaches. - Assist visitors and staff by providing directions or information while maintaining a professional presence. - Conduct security checks at entry and exit points to verify identities and prevent unauthorized access. - Collaborate with loss prevention teams to identify potential risks and implement preventative measures. Experience - Previous experience in law enforcement, private security, surveillance, or loss prevention is preferred. - Familiarity with CCTV systems and surveillance technology is highly desirable. - Strong observational skills with the ability to detect unusual behavior or security threats. - Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations. - Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor are essential for this role.
