Assistant Store Manager (Central Okanagan)

Wells Gray Outfitters – Clearwater, BC Wage: $23 per hour Overview Wells Gray Outfitters is Clearwater’s locally owned sporting goods and outdoor store. We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, customer-focused, and community-minded individual to join our team as an Assistant Store Manager. This is a full-time, year-round position (approximately 35–40 hours per week). In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service while assisting with the day-to-day operations of the store. You will work both independently and as part of a team, helping ensure smooth store operations and a positive experience for every customer. Successful applicants will also be trained to perform basic bicycle maintenance, skate sharpening, and a variety of other equipment services. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, an active interest in sports and/or outdoor activities, and the ability to represent Wells Gray Outfitters as a positive ambassador in the community. Key Responsibilities Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service by engaging with customers and assisting with product selection Expertly fitting and adjusting specialty sports equipment Process transactions and handle cash accurately using a point-of-sale (POS) system Assist with inventory tasks such as restocking, organizing, and inventory counts Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the sales floor, stockroom, and exterior areas Provide guests with friendly directions and local recommendations during their visit to Wells Gray Provincial Park Full-time (35–40 hours per week) Year-round employment Wage: $23/hour Weekend availability preferred Training provided for equipment services Must have reliable transportation (valid Class 5 driver’s license preferred) Qualifications Previous retail or customer service experience preferred Leadership experience or supervisory experience is an asset Solid organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Positive attitude and willingness to learn new products and skills Comfortable working independently when required Why Work With Us Friendly, family-owned small business environment Opportunity to work in the sporting goods and outdoor gear industry Employee discounts on great gear A fun, community-based workplace in Clearwater Schedule flexibility where possible Opportunity for growth as our company grows Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2psjrv
