We are currently seeking an experienced Architectural Sheet Metal Technician / Journeyman to join our team. About the Role We are looking for experienced sheet metal professionals who take pride in quality workmanship, work safely, and want to be part of a strong team setting. Key Responsibilities Installation & Production - Install Architectural Sheet Metal systems safely and efficiently - Work with a variety of wall systems, flashings, panels, coping systems, cladding, soffits, and custom architectural details - Read and interpret drawings, layouts, and specifications - Follow manufacturer specifications and company quality standards - Maintain productivity while ensuring quality workmanship - Support efficient workflow and organization on site Safety Responsibilities - Follow all company safety policies and WorkSafeBC regulations - Participate in FLHAs, toolbox talks, and safety meetings - Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses - Wear required PPE and follow safe work procedures at all times - Help maintain a clean and organized job site Teamwork & Accountability - Work collaboratively with Foremen, Lead Hands, and crew members - Support apprentices and newer workers when appropriate - Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to work - Respect company tools, vehicles, equipment, and job sites - Maintain a professional attitude on site and when representing the company Qualifications - 3+ Years experience in Architectural Sheet Metal required - Journeyman and/or Red Seal Certification considered a strong asset - Strong understanding of sheet metal systems, layouts, and installation methods - Ability to read drawings and architectural details - Ability to work safely at heights and in varying weather conditions - Positive attitude and strong work ethic - Ability to work well within a team environment - Fall Protection certification required - Valid driver’s license considered an asset - Additional safety certifications considered an asset What We Offer - Competitive wages - Extended health and dental benefits - RRSP matching program - Ongoing training and leadership development opportunities - Opportunities for advancement - Long-term commercial work across BC and the Yukon - A strong team culture focused on safety, accountability, and craftsmanship Why Join Laing?
