Design Co-op (Fall 2026) (Kingston)

The HDR Kingston office is looking for design‑focused co‑op students who are self‑motivated learners and eager to gain hands‑on experience on a diverse portfolio of architectural projects across healthcare, post‑secondary education, science and technology, civic, and commercial sectors. Responsibilities - Assist architects and other team members with all phases of design and construction, including schematic design, design development, and contract documents. - Create and refine floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules. - Produce 3‑D views and renderings to support presentations and design intent. - Apply architectural procedures and techniques under guidance of senior staff. - Perform contract administration tasks as delegated. Required Skills - Revit 2020 and newer - AutoCAD 2020 and newer - Adobe Photoshop - Knowledge of building technology, assembly methods, construction methodologies, and material applications. - Strong multitasking ability while maintaining high performance. Preferred Skills - Rhino - Enscape (rendering plugin for Revit and Rhino) - SketchUp - Adobe InDesign - Other visualization specialties. Required Qualifications - Current enrolment in an undergraduate or graduate program. - Attention to detail. - Strong problem‑solving and communication skills. - Basic Microsoft Office proficiency. - Commitment to active participation in our employee‑owned culture.
