Server/Bartender (Kingston)

Job Summary Smoke 'N' Barrel is currently looking for a positive, enthusiastic person to join our Front of House team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages, providing excellent customer service, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. This role requires a robust understanding of food safety, food handling, and cash handling procedures, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Previous restaurant experience and familiarity with POS systems such as Touch Bistro are highly valued. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring guests have an enjoyable experience while maintaining high standards of hospitality and professionalism. Responsibilities - Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers - Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences - Mix and garnish cocktails according to recipes or customer requests - Check identification to ensure legal drinking age and refuse service to intoxicated customers - Maintain a clean and organized bar area - Handle cash transactions and operate the cash register - Monitor inventory and restock bar supplies as needed - Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations - Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests Requirements - Previous experience in the hospitality or food industry preferred - Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices - Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously - Proven bartending skills, including knowledge of different drink recipes and mixing techniques - Ability to handle food safely, including proper handling of garnishes and ingredients - Proficient in cash handling and cashiering, with basic math skills for accurate transactions - Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems for order processing and payment handling This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and dedicated to delivering exceptional service.
