Full-Time (37.5 hours/week, this is a full-time, fixed-term contract to May 31, 2027. The contract may be extended pending funding. Position Status:

This position is a new vacancy within the Kingston Native Centre and Language Nest About the Role The Family Wellness Support Worker is responsible for supporting our youth and mental health programs including Indigenous Mental Health, Akwe:kon, and Wasa-nabin. The Support Worker facilitates groups, engages in peer counselling, supports children with special needs, provides crisis intervention and connects with youth from both the Wasa-nabin and River programs. The Support Worker also supports families through holistic and culturally based services to meet the needs of Urban Indigenous folx through a range of services focusing on mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being.Family Wellness and Mental Health services are delivered through a trauma-informed, harm reduction and strength-based approach. What You’ll Do

1. Service Delivery

Provide culturally safe peer support, coaching, and supportive conversations for individuals and families Facilitate group activities such as sharing circles, wellness sessions, and land-based healing Support individuals in developing safety plans and coping strategies Incorporate cultural teachings, ceremony, and traditional medicines into supportsSupporting children with exceptionalities and following support plans. Supporting in weekly evening programs with Akwe:kon and Wasa-Nabin Groups 2. Case Navigation&Referral

Assess participant needs and provide navigation to internal and external supports Advocate for access to housing, medical, social, and harm reduction services Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local resources and referral pathways Participate in case planning with service partners as required 3. Compliance&Reporting

Maintain accurate participant files, case notes, and program records Complete all required reporting, including Serious Occurrence Reports (SOR/ESOR) Ensure compliance with KNCLN policies and legal standards (OHSA, PHIPA, AODA, Violence&Harassment) 4. Collaboration&Partnerships

Work closely with the FWMH Manager and KNCLN staff teams Engage Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and cultural advisors in program delivery Represent KNCLN at community events, coalitions, and interagency meetings 5. Other Duties as Assigned

Hours:

Full-time hours (37.5). Occasional evening and weekend work required. Environment:

Office, community sites, and outreach settings. Remote work or hybrid arrangements are not available within Kingston Native Centre and Language Nest.
