The Warehouse Operator & Class DZ Backup Driver loads and unloads trucks, stocks products in appropriate locations, pulls stock and stages products for shipping, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. This position will also be responsible for driving company trucks when needed to make route deliveries to customers, ensuring product is delivered to customers in a timely manner while staying compliant with National Safety Code. Hourly Rate and Schedule: - $25.00 CAD per hour - Monday - Friday - 9:00am to 6:00pm EST, (start/end time varies on most days due to workload / coverage / business needs) - Full-time position with regular working hours - Positive and friendly working environment - Paid orientation/training located in Mississauga, Ontario CAN for 1-2 weeks. Requirements: - Preference of minimum one (1) year of experience operating 26–28 ft. box trucks or any other commercial motor vehicle over 10,001 lbs. - Possession of a valid class DZ driver’s license with air brakes - Willingness to submit to background checks - Clean driving record with no recent moving violations; must remain insurable under standard insurance market rates - Ability to lift up to 75 pounds - Ability to perform repetitive bending and lifting - Previous warehouse experience and must obtain forklift and manlift certification within 3 months of hire Backup Driver / Warehouse Operator duties include but are not limited to: - Load and unload trucks, dispersing product accurately based on its receiving location - Use scanners to stocks parts on racks in proper bin locations - Operate at least one type of Power-Industrial Equipment (Forklift, Manlift, etc.) - Place product on pallets and assist in banding and wrapping loads - Wear protective steel toed shoes and work in a safe manner at all times - Keep warehouse and work area clean and organized at all times - Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions - Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) well as with company policies and procedures - Report defects, accidents or violations - Complete paperwork necessary for company and National Safety Code. - Communicate with Fleet Management on maintenance issues and preventative maintenance of delivery trucks. - All other duties as assigned Warehouse, Warehouse Worker, Warehouse Associate, Warehouse Operator, Forklift, Meyer Distributing, military friendly, forklift operator, manlift, manlift operator, Box Truck Driver, Class DZ, Canada Pay: $25.00 per hour Benefits: - Casual dress - Dental care - Paid time off - Paid vacation - RRSP match - Vision care Application question(s): - Do you live within 45 kilometers of the job location? - How many jobs have you held in the last year? - Are you able to lift 34 kilograms / 75 pounds on a regular basis? - Are you scared of heights? - Do you have at least 1 year of professional driving experience in a 26ft. to 28ft. box truck? - Do you currently require sponsorship to work in Canada? - Are you authorized to work in Canada and in this position? - Are you able to travel to the U.S.?
