Address: 945 Gardiners Road Overview As a Financial Planner at BMO, you provide financial and investment planning and advice to deliver solutions in the best interests of the customer. You determine client needs and provide solutions through the sale of managed products and services such as mutual funds, retirement savings plans and similar products, as well as referrals to business partners. You proactively engage with new and existing customers and prospects to provide needs‑based assessments, grow loyalty, identify opportunities, and build relationships within the community. Responsibilities - Identify and evaluate opportunities during customer conversations to generate referrals for personal and commercial banking products. - Develop and implement a relationship management plan to meet client needs, achieving sales and performance targets. - Respond to customer investment requests and refer customers to partners as appropriate. - Break down strategic problems and analyze data to provide insights and recommendations. - Introduce clients to investment strategies and work with them to set goals, using appropriate guidance tools. - Probe client personal investment and banking needs, integrating marketing promotions and programs into conversations. - Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of personal investment products, practices, and trends. - Contribute to the ongoing improvement of overall business results and customer experience. - Work across multiple branches and channels to deliver the desired customer experience, while protecting the bank's assets and complying with all regulatory, legal and ethical requirements. Qualifications Typically between 3–5 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Must meet licensing requirements for a Financial Planner in the province or territory of employment. - Advanced working knowledge of the financial industry. - Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience. - Verbal and written communication skills – in depth. - Collaboration and team skills – in depth. - Analytical and problem‑solving skills – in depth. - Influence skills – in depth. Compensation Pay Type: Commission. Expected target salary for the first year includes a commission structure. Salaries may vary by location, experience, education, and other factors.
