Warehouse Forklift Operator (Ruthven)

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to efficiently manage inventory and facilitate warehouse operations. This role requires mechanical knowledge, strong communication, attention to safety, and the ability to work in a rapid-paced environment. The Forklift Operator plays a vital role in ensuring accurate order picking, inventory management, and overall warehouse productivity. There will also be an opportunity to assist in the labelling department. Duties - Operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to move materials and products within the warehouse - Load and unload goods from trucks and storage areas with precision and safety - Assist with order picking using warehouse management systems to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders - Perform basic maintenance checks on forklift equipment and report any mechanical issues - Use basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and verifying quantities during order picking - Conduct heavy lifting as required to handle large or bulky items safely - Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency - Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to forklift operation and warehouse management - Strong communication skills must be able to take and understand direction from direct supervisor(s) Requirements - Proven experience operating forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers - Mechanical knowledge related to forklift maintenance and troubleshooting is preferred - Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory control and order fulfillment - Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly and stand for extended periods during shifts - Strong attention to safety standards and procedures in a warehouse setting - Prior experience with order picking in a warehouse environment is desirable - Basic understanding of warehouse operations, including inventory management and material handling techniques - Strong communication skills Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour Experience: - Warehouse distribution: 1 year (preferred) Language: - English (required) Licence/Certification: - Forklift Licence (required) Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pdac6
