Food processing Labour (Cottam)

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Food Processing Labour to join our manufacturing team in a fast-paced food industry environment. This role involves supporting various stages of food production, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a solid work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and adapt within a manufacturing setting. Prior experience in food processing or sanitation is a plus but not required; training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in food safety, packaging, and manufacturing operations. Responsibilities - Assist with the packaging of food products according to company standards and safety protocols - Operate basic machinery and equipment used in food processing, including forklifts (training provided) - Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas to meet health regulations - Support the movement of raw materials and finished products throughout the production line - Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet food safety standards - Follow all safety procedures and mechanical instructions to ensure a safe working environment - Perform basic math calculations for measurements and quantities as needed during processing tasks - Adhere to strict sanitation and hygiene protocols throughout all stages of food handling Qualifications - Prior experience in the food industry or manufacturing is preferred but not required; training will be provided - Mechanical knowledge or experience operating machinery is a plus - Basic math skills for measurements and quality control purposes - Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices is advantageous - Ability to operate forklifts safely (training provided) - Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety - Ability to work effectively in a team environment within a fast-paced setting - Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving production needs This role is vital in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality food products while maintaining strict safety and sanitation standards.
