Security Officer
to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.
Security Officer As a Data Center Security Officer, you will conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior), control access and egress, monitor closed‑circuit televisions and alarm systems, compose reports, deter criminal activity and misconduct, and perform other duties as specified in post orders. The Data Center Security Officer is trained to work on all posts at the assigned site location and is available to work all shifts.
Responsibilities
Patrol exterior grounds of the facility.
Observe and report suspicious activity.
Maintain awareness of surroundings to promote physical security and safety; watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements.
Contribute to communication and awareness of security policies and issues as needed; warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles.
Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits; control/direct traffic.
Investigate and report maintenance and safety conditions that might endanger client, its associates or public safety.
Ensure that daily administrative documentation is always kept concise and complete; maintain all daily assigned equipment in functional and presentable condition.
Investigate security‑related accidents/incidents, interview witnesses, complaints and victims; gather physical evidence and preserve it for future use; complete reports and follow up with management as needed.
Investigate and report fires, evacuations, hazardous situations or other facility‑related events, and provide backup to client personnel.
Assist with crowd control and cooperation with Fire Department/EMS or other officials during incidents; maintain control at traffic accidents, assist victims, and investigate.
Ensure that all employees on company property have proper company‑issued identification.
Required Qualifications
Shift– Floating shift, 40 hours per week with a varying schedule.
BSP Guard card.
Preferred Qualifications
Some security experience (private or public sector).
Mature, professional individuals who can provide a high level of customer service.
Must be able to work any shift, including multiple shifts.
Can handle high competency regarding administrative and data‑entry tasks.
Basic computer skills.
Willing and able to work with minimal supervision.
Capable of handling stressful situations and emergencies.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment.
Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments.
Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment‑related tasks.
Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly.
Ability to move quickly and efficiently within various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
Good hand‑eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors.
Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses.
Ability to differentiate between color‑coded warning signs, labels, and cables.
Ability to work in environments with a wide temperature range inside a facility.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow.
Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection.
Possession of a valid driver’s license for work‑related travel, as required.
