Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Montréal-Nord, QC Canada Site is looking for a current Distribution Center Manager to join our Contract Logistics team. How you create impact The Distribution Centre Manager (DCM) is responsible for overall performance, governance, and strategic oversight of a logistics facility where day‑to‑day operations are executed by a Fourth‑Party Logistics (4PL) provider. This role serves as the senior on‑site owner’s representative, ensuring that the 4PL delivers against contractually defined service levels, cost targets, safety standards, and continuous improvement objectives. The Distribution Center Manager (DCM) acts as the primary liaison between the company, the 4PL, local customers, and internal stakeholders, with full accountability for operational outcomes while not directly managing frontline labor. Strategic & Operational Oversight - Own end-to-end facility performance, ensuring service, cost, quality, safety, and compliance while adapting to volume, network and customer changes. - Translate strategy into execution with the 4PL from startup through operational execution to drive performance and manage facility changes (startup, transition, expansion) 4PL Governance & Performance Management - Own and govern the 4PL contract, ensuring KPI/SLA performance, compliance, and cost alignment. - Lead structured performance management, including consistent business reviews via data-driven insights - Drive root cause-analysis for corrective actions and continuous improvement Financial & Commercial Management - Own site financial performance, including P&L;, cost structures, budgeting, and invoice validation. - Drive cost efficiency and financial planning through productivity improvement initiatives that do not compromise service Customer & Stakeholder Management - Serve as the primary local customer and stakeholder interface, managing communications, escalations, and service recovery. KN Experience - Champion an engaged and connected culture, fostering collaboration, inclusion, and strong team alignment within the KN team. What we would like you to bring - Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience). - 5+ years of progressive logistics, warehousing, or supply chain leadership experience. - Proven experience managing third‑party logistics (3PL/4PL) providers. - Strong commercial, financial, and contract management skills. - Demonstrated ability to lead through influence rather than direct authority. - Excellent stakeholder, customer, and executive communication skills. - Experience running/operating a sort center or hub.
