About The Role As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will apply advanced electrical engineering knowledge to support the design and analysis of nuclear products and projects. You will be responsible for electrical system design, instrumentation and controls, and system wiring activities, supporting operating plants and new projects. This role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams and the ability to develop and review high‑quality engineering documentation.
You will report to the Manager, Aux Electrical Systems and Equipment and be located at the Kitchener, Ontario Office. This position will be offered as a hybrid role. Employees working in hybrid roles are expected to work onsite at our Kitchener, Ontario Office 2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Perform engineering design and analysis for nuclear products and projects, including electrical system design, instrumentation and controls, and system wiring
Develop engineering design documentation such as technical evaluations, calculations, specifications, and obsolete parts equivalencies
Evaluate and apply standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria to support safe and compliant electrical designs
Use engineering software tools such as ETAP, Mathcad, Maximo, or equivalent, and learn new tools
Work with internal engineering and project teams to obtain information, coordinate work, and meet schedule requirements
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of professional electrical engineering experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience with electrical system design including load flow studies, short circuit analysis, protective relay settings, instrumentation and controls, and system wiring
Knowledge of power plant systems and equipment
Experience developing procurement specifications, reviewing supplier proposals, and supporting operating plants with engineering documentation
Base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $86,800 to $108,500 per year.
