Senior Project Estimator (Kitchener)

Your newpany Hays has partnered with a Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo area contractor who recently won Business of the Year (50+ employees) in the region and who have been serving thatmunity for many years. They focus predominately on ICI and residential projects, both design-build and renovation. They have a tight-knit team working out of their Kitchener, Ontario office and are looking to add a Senior Estimator and Estimator to the team. Your new role In this role, the Estimator will report to the Construction Manager. They will be responsible for overseeing the quality and productivity of the estimating department, managing budgets and project proposals and leading the team. They will review project budgets regularly with upper management to confirm proper expensing and defer any risk. They will review pre-construction progress with the project teams on a regular basis and provide guidance when needed. The Senior Estimator will explore new leads and evaluate workflow, maintaining aprehensive work schedule for estimator staff. They will attend AOC design meetings, meetings with sub-trades, and meet frequently with upper management. Finally, they will take part in overall project reviews and implement any needed changes to pre-construction to ensure a positive evolving process for the next one! What you''ll need to succeed The successful Senior Estimator will have at least 5 years in construction estimating or related field with a strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices. They will have excellentmunication skills, be able to build rapport and work with both internal and external stakeholders. They will have experience in cost control measures and pricing strategies within the construction industry. They must be proficient with Bluebeam, Procore, MS Applications and other construction-focused software. Finally, they will be well organized, have excellent analytical skills and a high attention to detail and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
