Long Haul Truck Driver (Kitchener-Waterloo)

Job Overview We are seeking a reliable and experienced Long Haul Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks over long distances to deliver freight efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess solid driving skills, familiarity with freight handling, and the ability to operate heavy equipment as needed. Duties - Safely operate commercial trucks over long-distance routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations - Transport freight efficiently from origin to destination, ensuring timely deliveries - Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns - Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary - Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption - Conduct basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when required to minimize downtime - Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues during transit - Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and freight handling Requirements - Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record - Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and other loading/unloading machinery - Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards for long-distance hauling - Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting on trucks and related equipment - Strong understanding of traffic laws, regulations, and safety protocols for commercial driving - Physical ability to handle heavy loads and operate heavy equipment as needed - Prior experience in freight transportation or heavy equipment operation is preferred but not mandatory - Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude toward clients and team members This position offers an opportunity for skilled drivers to contribute to a dynamic logistics operation while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
