Equipment Operator/Labourer (Ayr)

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience operating various heavy equipment. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of machinery on job sites, contributing to the successful completion of projects. Duties - Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, loaders, skid steers and farm machinery to perform various tasks including digging, grading, and building. - Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality. - Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. - Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning and lubricating parts. - Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively. - Report any mechanical issues or concerns regarding equipment performance to supervisors. - Dig pits, trenches and foundations in preparation for job site construction. - Lift heavy loads up to 70 lbs. and navigate construction job site terrain. - Identify utility lines. - Perform setup and cleanup tasks at job site. - Direct traffic when necessary to ensure safety of pedestrians, motorists and work crew. - Back-fill trenches and pits when necessary. - Provide labour support as needed. - Perform general maintenance of construction equipment and vehicles. Please note, Must have G License and Must have 3-5 yrs. Experience in Landscaping Construction. Successful Candidates should be willing to remain on-call for winter maintenance services.
