Environmental Engineer, Scientist or Hygienist - Degree/diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field - Work from a home office in SW Ontario (ideally near or between Kitchener and London) - High level of autonomy. - Flexible work structure. We’re Caskanette & Associates Consulting Engineers and we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Environmental Engineer, Scientist, or Hygienist to join our team. Position Overview As our newest Environmental Engineer/Scientist/Hygienist, you will be involved in a wide variety of interesting projects working in a fast-paced environment, often in response to emergencies. You will be responsible for conducting spill response, environmental investigations and assessments, hygiene and indoor air quality assessments, abatement oversight and technical reports detailing the assessments and or providing abatement/remediation protocols. This role involves site visits, air/soil/water sampling, lab results analysis, client communication, report preparation, and administrative tasks related to project files. Key Responsibilities - Supervise and consult on environmental spill response and remediations (after hours or when they occur), mould assessments and abatements, Designated Substance Surveys (DSS) and abatements of materials such as asbestos and lead, other hygiene projects, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Investigations, post-fire smoke/soot mapping, Clandestine drug lab investigations, and radon assessments. - Conduct environmental site assessments (ESAs - Phase II and III), including soil and water sampling and contamination investigations. - Prepare detailed lab analysis, technical reports and communicate findings effectively to clients. - Manage administrative tasks related to personal case files. - Participate in client relation/networking events. Qualifications Required: - Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Engineering, Hygiene or a related field. - Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for travel. - Experience in environmental spill response consulting and/or hygiene projects. - Strong technical writing and analytical skills. Preferred: - Professional designation (e.g., P.Eng., P.Ag., P.Geo., CIH, ROH, LET, CET or equivalent). - Experience in environmental remediation, site assessment, hygiene projects/abatements and/or regulatory compliance. Location - Candidates should reside in Southwestern Ontario, ideally between Kitchener and London surrounding areas near the 401, but other areas will be considered. - Work from a home office when not attending site visits and willing to travel. Compensation We offer a competitive salary of $70,000-$110,000+ per annum, commensurate with experience. We also offer an extensive benefits package, performance bonus, and travel compensation. Bonus can add significantly to base salary, with some earning as much as 25% on top of salary.
