Overview Role Position Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor
The warehouse trainer is responsible for onboarding all new hires and tracking their progress through the probationary period as well as conducting and delivering training to warehouse employees, and upgrading their skills. This individual will work with all shifts to support the needs of the operation.
Responsibilities
Ensure all new employees are provided with equipment, tools, locker space and training documents during their onboarding;
Ensure new employees are successfully oriented to the warehouse environment including conducting all activities on the new hire checklist;
Help create and maintain employee training procedures;
Guide employees, oversee that multi-customer pallets are built in sequence order to ensure the driver can locate all products for that delivers;
Track all new employee training documents;
Follow safe and efficient work procedures to meet customer requirements including maintaining a clean and safe environment
Complete and keep up to date on all Health&Safety, Food Safety and Quality Assurance training pertinent to the role
Responsible for reporting any and all concerns related to the Health&Safety, safe handling and integrity of all items received, stored and distributed by Flanagan Foodservice
Adherence to all Health&Safety, Food Safety and WHMIS practices
Communicate new employee’s progress to Supervisors, Human Resources and Operations Manager when required;
Train existing employees on new or improved techniques, systems, equipment and warehouse machinery when required;
Mentor, coach and re-train existing employees to help them better meet company standards;
Assist with picking, loading, put away, replenishment
Complete and keep up to date on all Health&Safety, Food Safety and Quality Assurance training pertinent to the role.
Responsible for reporting any and all concerns related to the Health&Safety, safe handling and integrity of all items received, stored and distributed by Flanagan Foodservice.
Adherence to all Health&Safety, Food Safety and WHMIS practices
Follow safe and efficient work procedures to meet customer requirements including maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma;
Previous experience with various functions with a warehouse environment, including but not limited to WHMIS, food safety, and proper lifting techniques.
Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Experience operating warehouse equipment including end-rider, reach truck, lift-truck, and tow-motor.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills;
Strong problem-solving abilities;
Solid leadership skills, and a proven ability to encourage, coach, and motivate others in a positive manner.
Fosters and build team relationships;
Willingness to cooperate with management team and accept new priorities as workload changes;
Proven experience training employees;
Strong computer skills (especially with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook);
Demonstrate knowledge of customer requirements, and/or new client set up, to meet customer expectations.
Ability to lift 60lbs product continuously;
Must have a flexible schedule and ability to work on all shifts when required.
