Responsibilities&Qualifications

Work well within a team environment

Be detail oriented and follow instructions

A working knowledge of plant identification and care for these plants would be beneficial

Be physically fit, capable of bending, lifting up to 40 pounds, digging and raking

A driver's license and own transportation to Rockway Gardens and off-sight greenhouse

This position requires 40 hours a week of physical labour

The incumbent will participate in all aspects of maintenance which may include:

Spring clean-up, raking leaves, pruning, cleaning up debris, clean up ponds and fountains

Work at the greenhouse assisting the grower in the spring

Planting annuals

Weeding and watering

Fertilizing

Pond maintenance including cleaning debris and removal of algae

Garbage pick up as needed

Plant removal

Mulching

Installing approximately 20 000+ bulbs as a team

Job Type Full-time Seasonal Contract

Work Start Date Mid May

Work End Date Mid November

Contract Length +5 months with possibility of return next season with positive performance
