Conestoga Meats is continuing to grow, and we have immediate openings forThe Job As part of the Conestoga team, you will play an important role, providing specialty and retail pork products to over 30 countries from one of the largest pork processing plants in Canada. Not only are there opportunities for production work but you will get the chance to train on specialty knife or machine operator positions to expand your skills. $23.90/per hour 1 dollar raise after 6 months of service to $22.39/hr. Afternoon Shift Premium ($1.25/per hour) Weekly pay by direct deposit Stable full-time hours; no rotating shifts Optional daily and weekend overtime available Employee referral bonus program (minimum $300 per hire) Competitive benefits package for you and your family at 3 months of service (Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, STD)Pension plan and company matching at 1 year of service. Noisy and some areas may have odours. Slaughter-house, meat processing and packing establishment.Transport raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials throughout plant and warehouse manually, or with powered equipment. Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines or mobile tank trucks. Feed and unload food, beverage, and associated products processing machines.Feed flattened boxes into forming machines to construct containers. Remove filled containers from conveyors and manually pack goods into bags, boxes, or other containers. Clean work areas and equipment Check products and packaging for basic quality defects. Assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties.Sort, pack, crate and package materials and product. Remove filled containers from conveyor. Manually pack goods into bags and boxes or other containers Assist machine operators, assemblers, and other workers. Transport raw materials finished products and packaging materials. What You Bring to The Position: Qualifications/Requirements1 month - less than 7 months experience in a labour related field. Experience in Food Processing is an asset. Ability to work under pressure to meet production deadlines. A Functional Work Simulation Assessment must be passed. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to perform physical and repetitive job duties for long periods up to 8 hours per shift.A commitment to SAFETY and QUALITY practices Strong attention to detail and demonstrated hand-eye coordination. Basic English communication skills (verbal and written) You are legally eligible to work in Canada. Completion of some High School education Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.These positions are required for day (starting times vary from 6:00 am - 7:00 am) and afternoon shift (starting times vary from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm) Monday - Friday. We anticipate 50 vacancies and the start date would be as soon as possible. Candidates will need to find their own transportation.
