AZ Truck Driver (Kitchener-Waterloo)

Ghent Landscape is currently seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our growing team as an AZ Float Truck Driver. This position involves operating a local Kenworth T-800 with an 8-ton boom crane to support a variety of landscape construction operations, including floating equipment, delivering aggregates and stone, and transporting trees and plant material to active job sites. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment. Experience operating landscape construction equipment is considered a strong asset. Candidates must also be willing to obtain crane certification if not already certified. Duties & Responsibilities - Safely load, transport, and offload landscape construction equipment, machinery, and materials, including aggregates, stone, mulch, trees, and plant material - Operate an 8-ton boom crane to lift and place materials or small equipment at various job sites - Secure loads using proper tie-down methods and ensure compliance with all applicable MTO load securement regulations - Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting and documenting any deficiencies - Follow all company policies and legislative safety requirements, including MTO, MOL, and CVOR standards - Maintain accurate driver logs, timesheets, delivery slips, and related documentation - Report vehicle damage, maintenance concerns, or safety issues promptly - Coordinate with site supervisors, foremen, and crews regarding delivery schedules and equipment logistics - Maintain professional and courteous communication with clients, the public, and fellow team members - Represent the company through safe driving practices, professionalism, and maintaining a clean and organized vehicle - Assist with general site or operational support duties as required - Other duties as reasonably assigned Requirements - Valid AZ Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract - Experience operating float trucks and hauling heavy equipment - Comfortable operating heavy equipment within a landscape construction setting - Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced outdoor construction setting - Crane certification is considered an asset; willingness to obtain certification is required - Must provide own CSA-approved safety boots - Reliable transportation to and from the shop/job sites This position is currently vacant.
