As a Senior Superintendent, you are responsible for the smooth functioning of day‑to‑day field operations on power utility construction projects. You will lead the development of project plans, monitor performance, anticipate client needs on construction issues, and identify solutions. Essential Responsibilities - Ensure that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, applicable building codes, and maintain high quality standards in
labor and materials. - Lead development of the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and ensure PQP conformance. - Lead development of the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP), recommend changes and areas for improvement, and lead the incident investigation process. - Review and update the construction schedule on large and complex projects, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met, and lead solution development for scheduling issues. - Estimate duration of activities and materials for large and complex multi‑discipline estimates, assist the estimating team with schedule, execution plan, and labor requirements for project pursuits. - Assume a leadership role, provide guidance and mentorship to project staff and superintendents in multiple teams, set priorities, and allocate resources to meet operational objectives. - Participate in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations. Qualifications - 15 years of powerline construction experience and 5+ years as a superintendent. - Completed post‑secondary education in Construction,
Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience. - Thorough understanding of current utilities construction practices, construction documents, contracts, costs, and budgets. - Ability to plan and manage a project schedule, anticipate constructability issues, and develop solutions for moderate to complex situations within scope of responsibility. - Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, anticipate stakeholder needs while leading and mentoring diverse teams. - Track record of building successful teams and promoting teamwork through motivating, coaching, and consensus‑building. - Previous staff supervision experience. - Clean driver’s abstract. - Successful completion of pre‑employment drug & alcohol requirements. - Experience on industrial, oil & gas, or mining projects and assets. Working Conditions - Site‑based role, with possible rotational shifts depending on project location. - A living‑out allowance or accommodations will be provided; travel allowances will be provided. - Between projects, a mix of in‑office work and work‑from‑home. Compensation $125,600.00 – $172,700.00 (base salary). Individual base pay will be determined based on experience, knowledge, skills, education, and location.
