Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader (Kitchener-Waterloo)

Ghent Landscape is currently seeking motivated individuals looking to join our growing landscape maintenance team as a Crew Leader. Suitable team members are motivated individuals that enjoy working outdoors on a daily basis and are comfortable in the operation of various landscape maintenance equipment. The Crew Leader will be responsible for a team of 2-3 people and will report directly to the Landscape Manager. Responsibilities - Use various landscape maintenance equipment to maintain commercial and high-end residential properties - Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner - Provide guidance to landscape labourers and lead hands regarding daily duties - Communicate with client and supervisor to ensure job satisfaction is achieved - Ensure compliance with company health and safety training and reporting requirements - Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions - Responsible for own transportation to and from the shop each day - A valid G license is required with a clean driving record - Responsible to provide own CSA approved work boots - Must be willing to work 45-50 hours per week and some weekends depending on work load - Participate in snow clearing operations during winter months - Other duties will be assigned as required Desired Skills and Experience - 2-3 years experience in landscape maintenance is required - Must have prior experience leading a crew - Must have a valid G class license in order to drive company vehicles - Experience with all landscape maintenance equipment (blowers, trimmers, hedge trimmer, lawn mowers, various small tools, etc.) - Bilingual in English and Spanish is an asset - Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs - Strong attention to detail - Ability to work independently and follow instructions - Must be safety conscious - Skill to troubleshoot solutions when problems arise - Must obtain WHMIS and Health and Safety training Ghent Landscape is an equal opportunity employer.
