Maintenance Supervisor (Waterloo Regional Municipality)

The Maintenance Supervisor is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing a small team of maintenance technicians while actively supporting plant operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. Working closely with production and plant leadership, the Team Lead will set clear expectations, coach and develop team members, and lead by example on the floor. Key Responsibilities - Lead, coach, and develop a small maintenance team, setting clear goals and performance expectations - Plan and prioritize preventive and corrective maintenance activities to support production requirements - Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment - Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, downtime reduction, and efficiency - Maintain accurate maintenance records, KPIs, and reporting to support operational decisions - Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures Qualifications - Valid 433A Industrial Millwright or 442A Industrial Electrician certification issued by Skilled Trades Ontario; preference will be given to candidates that have completed an apprenticeship program through Skilled Trades Ontario. - 8–10+ years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive - 3+ years of leadership or lead hand experience with a strong focus on coaching and team development - Strong troubleshooting capabilities across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems - Experience with PLCs and automated equipment (exposure to systems such as Keyence or Omron considered an asset) - Proven ability to prioritize work, manage competing demands, and drive results in a fast-paced setting Location: Waterloo Region Hourly Range: $45-50/hour Shift: Straight Days (8:00am-4:30pm), Ability to provide support to Afternoons Perks: 10% RRSP Program, 3-Weeks Vacation If you are interested in learning more about the Maintenance Supervisor job opportunity please submit your updated resume to We are recruitment industry leaders committed to quality service, integrity, respect and equal opportunity.
