Senior R&D Engineer - Catalyst Development (Kitchener)

Drive innovation at CarbonLume as a Senior R&D; Engineer focusing on reactor engineering and catalyst development in a hands-on setting. Lead projects from prototype to pre-pilot in a dynamic, team-driven environment. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the CEO and advisors while overseeing reactor design and scale-up efforts. You will utilize multiphysics modeling tools such as COMSOL and Aspen to conduct simulations, and perform catalyst formulation, screening, and testing. This position also includes managing junior researchers and coordinating with external partners. Key Responsibilities: - Design mechanical, optical, and process aspects of photoreactors - Run multiphysics simulations for reactor performance optimization - Develop BOM and oversee gas-handling skid operations - Lead catalyst formulation, screening, and post-reaction characterization - Conduct operando diagnostics for reactor measurements Requirements: - PhD or MASc in relevant engineering fields - Hands-on experience in gas-phase catalysis and reactor engineering - Robust multiphysics modeling experience using COMSOL - Knowledge of catalyst formulation involving supported metals - Eligibility to work full-time in Canada Join CarbonLume to advance your engineering career in the innovative field of methane pyrolysis and hydrogen technologies.
