Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced technical leader in the data space to help build and operate a secure, reliable, cost‑efficient platform for data ingestion, storage, compute, orchestration, and governance. The role spans multiple Platform and Product groups, influencing teams across Product Engineering, Data Science, Product Management, Strategy, Analytics, and Finance.Responsibilities
Plan and execute technology projects that scale with Faire’s growth; lead architecture development with a focus on data integrity, security, performance, scale, reliability, monitoring/alerting. Provide technical guidance and mentorship on challenging open‑ended problems, including cost‑efficient compute and storage, ETL and ELT pipelines, data ingest and warehousing, monitoring, alerting, and cost tracking for workloads.Engage with team planning and prioritization, balancing urgent and near‑term needs with long‑term goals. Define architecture patterns and build reliable, scalable data pipelines, orchestration of data movement, querying, transformation, and frameworks for analytics engineering workflows. Diagnose, mitigate, and permanently address data system production issues atscale.Roll out patterns for workload performance and cost optimization. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience. Strong experience designing, developing, and operating data streaming, batch, ETL/ELT, orchestration, storage, compute, and workflow systems at scale. Strong SQL and Python skills; familiarity with Java/Kotlin,Spark, and Airflow preferable.Data warehousing experience at petabyte‑scale; understanding of performance, capacity, and cost trade‑offs in data processing systems. Experience guiding technical and product teams on trade‑offs and architecture decisions. Experience diagnosing and resolving production issues in a high‑volume data environment.Experience in a growth‑stage company with a large data function (multiple teams and over 60 people). Enable teams to operate in a self‑serve model. Familiarity with AWS, Snowflake, Airflow, Spark, Python, Kotlin. Proven ability to influence across multiple teams and departments. Benefits
