Project Leader NPI (New Product Introduction)
Kitchener, ON, Canada – Hybrid. The Project Leader NPI is responsible for leading current product introduction projects and supporting the transfer of product designs from R&D into manufacturing. This role ensures efficient industrialization, cost optimization, and high-quality production readiness while collaborating across engineering, operations, and cross‑functional teams. Responsibilities
Lead project planning and execution for new product introduction and manufacturing changes Coordinate cross‑functional teams including R&D, Marketing, and Manufacturing Engineering Support design transfer of components and products into mass manufacturing Ensure timely and cost‑effective industrialization of products and processes Identify and implement manufacturing and test technologies required for production readiness Align project activities with stakeholders and manage resource allocation Monitor project progress and provide reporting across teams Support post‑launch activities including root cause analysis and process improvements Drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and change management processes Facilitate collaboration and ensure effective communication across project teams Qualifications
More about you: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electronics, mechanical, mechatronics, or related field) Experience in product development, electronics manufacturing, and project management Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industrialization Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex projects Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Nice to Have
Master’s degree Certifications in Project Management or Lean Six Sigma Experience with medical devices or regulated industries Experience with embedded software and testing processes Knowledge of SAP and engineering tools (PDM, Windchill, etc.) A minimum of 200Mb/sec download and 10Mb/sec upload speed internet connectivity is required to support any remote/hybrid employee functionality at Sonova.
