Description
Analyse existing processes and systems and identify areas for improvement. Design and optimise production layouts, manufacturing systems, production processes to boost output and reduce waste, and workflows. Implementing process changes, new technologies, automation, and quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient production operations.Troubleshoot equipment and process inefficiencies. Support the production department daily. Improve, standardise and update working methods. Conduct studies to determine the workload of personnel and plant equipment, if necessary, reorganise job tasks to maximise production efficiency. Lead, manage, participate in continuous improvement activities and projects and oversee their implementation.Play an active role in the continuous improvement projects (PVA, 5S, Kanban, Kaizen) and implement found solutions. Conduct technical studies (workflow analysis, time and motion study, value chain, production line balancing, management plan, etc.) to maximise production efficiency. Participate in production feasibility studies (identify sources of differences in costs).Offer technical support to the production department, define tooling requirements and storage. Support new product implementation. Create and implement equipment and work cell layouts and installations. Perform other duties as required. Education&Experience Required: University degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position within a manufacturing environment. Qualifications&Skills Required: Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, product and process design. Advanced knowledge of industrial equipment, including robotics, CNC machines, and other mechanical systems. Strong mechanical engineering background with a deep understanding of mechanical systems.Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, 3D Software and ERP / MRP. Technical expertise in software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and data analysis tools. Programming skills (VBA, Python, C#) an asset. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and technical drawings. Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively in a team environment Highly organised and detail oriented.Attention to detail, prioritisation and ability to work well under pressure. Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques and methodologies Bilingualism essential (spoken and written French and English) as the incumbent will be required to interact on a daily basis with international colleagues, customers and partners who do not speak French;Location
