Building Mechanical Engineer

As a
Building Mechanical Engineer
at a client site located in
Bromont , you will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing the performance of critical infrastructures:
HVAC systems
Mechanical and electrical systems
Fire safety
Energy management
Your expertise will contribute to providing a
safe, efficient, and innovative
environment for cutting‑edge research and development activities.
This position goes well beyond simple maintenance: you will be able to propose
sustainable solutions , participate in various projects, and work with a team that values innovation and continuous improvement.
Main Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire safety, personnel safety, and control systems.
Maintain building facilities and systems in compliance with applicable standards, codes, and guidelines.
Apply and adhere to all
codes, regulations, and policies
related to building operations and workplace safety.
Maintain an
energy management program
and ensure that all systems operate as efficiently as possible.
Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of a
preventive maintenance program
to extend the lifespan of equipment and respond to emergency repairs.
Comply with policies regarding the
safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials
and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Review and analyze building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing, etc.) to verify their compliance with nominal capacities and client requirements.
Utilize in-depth knowledge of engineering principles and techniques to address complex mandates and propose
innovative solutions .
Act as a
technical reference
within the team: mentor, share knowledge, and support colleagues from other disciplines.
Collaborate with client, operations, project, and service teams, and contribute to building consensus around proposed solutions.
Clearly explain sometimes complex, sensitive, or delicate information.
Desired Profile
University degree in
building engineering
or related field.
3 to 5 years of professional experience
in building mechanics, property management, or similar environment.
Member of the
Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
– mandatory.
Ability to exercise informed judgment based on multiple sources of information.
Ability to take a fresh look at existing solutions and propose improvements.
Excellent command of
Microsoft Office
(Word, Excel, Outlook).
Advanced organizational skills, sense of priorities, and curiosity.
Comfort with numbers (percentages, fractions, simple financial calculations).
Good written and oral communication skills in a multidisciplinary context.
