Seasonal Wine Shop Associate (Langley)

Job Summary We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Seasonal Wine Shop Associate to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with wine selections, and ensuring an organized and inviting shopping environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for wine, and the ability to engage with diverse customers in a fast-paced retail setting. This position offers an excellent chance to develop sales skills and gain experience in retail merchandising and customer relations during peak seasons. Duties - frequent lifting of heavy cases of wine - Greet customers warmly and provide knowledgeable assistance regarding wine products. - Conduct product demos and educate customers about different wines, pairing suggestions, and tasting notes. - Assist customers in making selections based on their preferences and needs. - Operate POS systems accurately for cash handling, sales transactions, and receipts. - Maintain organized displays and ensure the wine shop is clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing. - Upsell products to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities. - Manage inventory levels, restock shelves, and assist with merchandising efforts. - Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy. - Support the team during busy periods by managing multiple tasks efficiently and demonstrating excellent time management skills. Skills - ability to lift cases of wine frequently during the day is a must. - Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively. - Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse clientele. - Experience in retail sales, cashiering, or POS systems is preferred. - Knowledge of wine products, merchandising techniques, and product demos is advantageous. - Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy. - Excellent organizational skills to manage inventory and maintain store presentation. - Customer service-oriented mindset with friendly phone etiquette. - Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance customer satisfaction while increasing sales. - Time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods.
