One Step at a Time Occupational Therapy offers : - Support for work-life balance by providing adaptable days and hours of work - Competitive rates - Variety of work, including working with children with varying diagnoses, ages and skill levels - Work from home; complete administrative part of work (e.g. charting, report writing etc.) from home - Hands-on mentoring and support with a therapist with many years of experience in paediatrics in a constructive supportive framework - Your own private office! Your responsibilities : - Provide Occupational Therapy assessments using relevant skill, knowledge and clinical reasoning - Assess, with the help of both standardized and/or informal assessment tools, client’s skills, abilities and environmental factors and their impact on their daily functioning - Create an intervention plan collaboratively with the parents in order to support the child - Provide a range of services : global assessments, regular therapy sessions (in-clinic or virtual), occasional home sessions and/or school visits when needed, team meetings and family meetings - Use knowledge of diagnostic, therapeutic and child development principles to provide evidence based services to create functional, innovative solutions for each child - Document information including relevant clinical data, assessments, treatment plans, progress and outcomes - Be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with families, other therapists as well as school-based teams - Demonstrate polite and assertive communication skills - Have strong critical thinking skills Qualifications: - A baccalaureate or masters degree in Occupational Therapy (required) - Licensed with the The College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) (required) - Two (2) years of recent, related experience including pediatrics or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience (preferred) - Physical ability to perform job duties - Registration or eligibility for registration on the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP) list (supervising therapist available if needed) The Ideal Candidate … - Ispassionate about children and providing excellent patient care - Understands the importance of respecting one client's pace, and rhythm, and using a strength-based and neuro-affirming approach to guide their interventions - Is creative and able to implement goals through a play-based approach! - Possesses excellent interpersonal skills for email/phone/in-person interactions - Highly organized to complete scheduling and charting in a timely manner - Possesses English language proficiency - Be able to implement feedback easily - Self-motivated with strong organizational skills - Provide consistent and dependable therapy to each child and family - Able to prioritize and manage workload independently Available days include Monday to Sunday!
