Matchbox Consulting Group is teaming up with one of Canada's largest civil and landscape groups on the search for an experienced Landscape Surveyor to join them on the road for various civil, electrical, asphalt, concrete, steel and hard and soft landscaping projects across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.
Role Specifications
Perform field surveying, layout, and staking for landscape, grading, and civil site-work elements including utilities, softscape/hardscape, drainage, and finished surfaces.
Collect accurate survey data using GPS/total station equipment and provide clear markups, redlines, and reports to project teams.
Verify elevations, alignments, and design compliance during excavation, site servicing, utilities installation, and landscape construction.
Prepare as-builts and support QA/QC for grading accuracy, topsoil placement, drainage flow, compaction, and municipal standards.
Coordinate closely with civil crews, landscape subcontractors, and site supervisors to ensure design intent is accurately executed.
Read and interpret civil, landscape, and utility drawings, and support issue resolution when field conditions differ from plans.
Qualifications
3+ years surveying experience
Experience in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control and job safety work related habits
Experience working with trades
Must have a valid BC driver's license
Must be fluent in English
First Aid is an asset
Experience with using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Centre
Experience with Total Station&GNSS Survey technology
Ability to set points from a control and layout all aspects of a civil project
Skills Required
Strong knowledge of quality control
Extensive knowledge and experience in installing a variety of soft and hard landscape applications
High motivated, self-driven individual who is detail oriented
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise
Ability to manage multiple projects
Civil 3D and AutoCAD experience
