Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist (Langley)

Overview We are seeking a friendly and organized Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant to join our veterinary team. This vital role involves providing exceptional customer service, managing appointments, and supporting the daily operations of our clinic. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate attitude towards animals and pet owners, and experience in a veterinary or medical setting, with laboratory experience being a valuable asset. Responsibilities - Greet clients warmly and handle check-in/check-out procedures efficiently - Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar to optimize workflow - Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide accurate information about services - Maintain detailed and organized patient records - Assist with laboratory procedures as needed, including sample processing - Process payments and handle billing transactions accurately - Support veterinary staff with administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations - Educate pet owners on post-treatment care and preventive health measures - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and front desk - Assist with restraining/handling of patients Qualifications - Prior experience as a veterinary receptionist/assistant is preferred - Preference given to applicants who are studying life sciences - Laboratory experience is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with sample handling and processing - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Strong organizational skills with attention to detail - Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners - Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment - Proficiency with basic computer software and veterinary management systems This role is essential for creating a welcoming environment for clients while supporting the clinical team.
