Electrical Design Engineer (Langley)

Position : Electrical Design Engineer Reports Directly to : ATS Engineering Manager Function : Engineering Location : Langley, BC (on-site) THE OPPORTUNITYThomson Power Systems, a division of Regal Rexnord, has been at the forefront of crafting electrical solutions for the Power Generation sector for over half a century. We are currently on the lookout for a Design Engineer to join our ATS Engineering team. Based in Langley, BC, Canada, this role is a prime chance for individuals passionate about technical design and product innovation. YOUR MISSIONMajor Responsibilities DesignAutomaticTransferSwitches(ATS)and control panels. Analyze customer specifications anddatasheets. Develop and review schematics, wiring diagrams, control logic, BOMs, and layouts; ensure design packages areproduction ready. Undertakecontroller forPLCprogramming and configuration. Execute recent product development (NPD) projects from concept through production release, including requirements, design outputs, prototyping, verification, and launch support. Own engineering deliverables acrossrequirements ofdefinition, design outputs, documentation, and change control. Support certification activities with technical documentation and test support; prior UL1008 experienceis beneficial but notrequired. Liaise with sales, Fieldserviceand production teams to resolve technical challenges. Improve standard components and products,leveragingrobust analytical techniques. Aid inaddressing routine technical issues,demonstratinga strong problem-solving acumen. Undertakeadditionaltasks asrequired. ARE YOU THE ONE?Required Education, Experience, and Skills Abachelor's degree in electricalengineering ordemonstratedequivalentexpertise. 2-5+ years ofdesignexperiencewithElectricalsystemsor electric panels like ATS, Switchgear, industrial controls,etc... PLC programming and/or troubleshooting experience. Proficiencyin using AutoCAD Classic. Recognized by piers to be ambitious,self-starter,energetic,organized,and highlymotivated. Stellar communication skills in English, encompassing both written and oral dimensions. An inherent drive for innovation and continuous improvement with a keen sense of curiosity. Dynamic, methodical, and driven by initiative. Fluency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for company-sponsored authorization. Preferred Experience and Skills Hands-on experience in AutoCAD Electrical. Familiarity with Visual Factory is an advantage.
