Systems Developer (Inventory & QuickBooks Integration) (Langley)

Overview Job Type: Contract / Project-Based Location: Remote / Lower Mainland BC (Optional) About the Project We are an industrial recycling operation currently transitioning from manual spreadsheets to a robust, web-based inventory system. We have a fully documented workflow and are looking for a technical expert to build the bridge between our material receiving process and our financial backend. The Core Mission - Web-Based Receiving Tool: Build a dedicated interface (no spreadsheets) to log incoming materials using standardized categories. - QuickBooks Online Automation: Develop a seamless integration where completed receiving logs automatically trigger invoice generation in QuickBooks Online (QBO). - Systems Architecture: Evaluate and recommend the best "tech stack" (Custom Web App vs. Enterprise Low-Code) to ensure long-term scalability. What We’re Looking For - QBO API Expertise: You have successfully built integrations with QuickBooks Online before. - Industrial Logic: You understand logistics, material categorization, or manufacturing workflows. - Process-Driven: We have the workflow mapped out; we need you to translate it into a high-performance digital tool. - Architecture Savvy: You can advise on the pros/cons of different platforms to ensure we don't outgrow this system. Technical Requirements - API Integration: Proficient in connecting custom applications to the QuickBooks Online REST API. - Database Management: Solid experience in SQL or relational database design to handle complex material categorization. - Data Integrity: Expertise in building robust Error Handling and Server-side Validation to ensure accounting accuracy. - Security: Knowledge of OAuth 2.0 protocols (required for QBO) and secure cloud hosting.
