Type: Full-Time, Permanent Hours: 37.5 hours per week (core hours Mon – Fri 930am – 230pm) Location:Remote (BC-based) | Periodic in-office in Burnaby – on the ancestral Coast Salish Territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations | Some Provincial travel required Salary:$77,000 – $94,600 (pay range explained below) The Role The Senior Executive & Governance Assistant (SEGA) is a senior, trusted operational role at the heart of the Indigenous Executive Office. You will support two senior leaders — the Executive Officer and Strategic Officer — while also serving as a dedicated governance assistant to the Indigenous Midwives Council of BC, supporting its Governance Circle, committees, and governance processes with consistency, accuracy, and cultural care. What You'll Do - Manage complex executive calendars, correspondence, briefing materials, and communications across multiple senior leaders - Administer Board and committee governance — packages, agendas, minute-taking, and a live action register in Asana - Reconcile executive expenses, track budgets, and prepare financial summaries for Board and funder reporting - Plan and execute events from small governance meetings to large multi-day gatherings, including culturally significant ceremonies - Coordinate comprehensive travel logistics for executives, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community members - Administer organizational platforms including Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Zoom, and Asana - Ensure culturally safe, protocol-sensitive engagement with Indigenous governments, communities, and partners What You Bring - 5–7+ years supporting senior executives or comparable leadership, with clear progression in responsibility - Genuine cultural humility and experience working within or alongside Indigenous organizations or governance environments - Board or governance support experience: package preparation, minute-taking, and records management - Financial administration skills: expense reconciliation, budget tracking, and reporting - Robust event planning and travel coordination experience - Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Asana (or equivalent project management tools) - Exceptional discretion, emotional intelligence, and written communication skills - Experience in Indigenous health, health systems, health authority tables or BC public sector environments is a robust asset - Preference will be given to qualified candidates who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, or Metis) Salary of $77,000 – $94,600 - The Pay Range shows the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full-time equivalent hours. Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements as well as internal equity.
