General Duties - Operates Pulling Winch - Operates Emptying Winch - Operates Skid Steer and Forklift - Helps ensure the mushroom compost fills into the growing beds and ensures growing beds are emptied post-harvest - Washing/cleaning and proper maintenance of Fill/Empty machinery and premises - Maintains strict hygiene at all times - Assists the Senior Crew – Fill/Empty Operations as required - Operates the headfilling machine - Helps ensure the mushroom compost and casing soil is evenly filled into the growing rooms to the correct and highest standards as set out in the filling score sheets (see Appendix A) - Helps to ensure that the cleaning and washing of the growing rooms and the equipment used is done to the highest and most consistent standards of hygiene required by organic mushrooms - Works alongside the Material Application Specialist in ensuring the all of the Preventative Maintenance is regularly carried out including the proper greasing of the bearings. It is also critical that all of the equipment is kept in a fit state to safely carry the full weekly working schedule - Supports and backs-up the Material Application Specialist, Fill/Empty Operations - Performs any other duties that may be assigned - Operates the Emptying Winch, pulling the compost out of the tunnel for spawning and transfer of the spawned compost to growing rooms - May occasionally work from heights and operate equipment with proper training - May assist in addition of mushroom spawn to compost material - May assist in addition of supplements to compost - Washing/cleaning and proper maintenance of Tunnels machinery and premises - Unloading trucks using a forklift when needed - Driving farm vehicles, such as wagons, casing trucks, or dump trucks - Wash and sanitize tunnels, nets, casing trucks, wagons, dump trucks, etc. - Assists the Senior Crew – Tunnels Operations as required - Helps ensure the compost is getting the right amount of water and mix. - Washing/cleaning and proper maintenance of Bunker filler and machinery. - Maintains common areas cleaned, washed, and keep organised as shop, bunkers inside and behind, fill hall, upstairs fill hall, pump house, electric house, storage and change room - Remove and install temperature probe - Cut strings and wash the blending line, and hopper - Clean compost from difficult access area with a pitchfork - Outdoor ground tasks in general - Back up at Fill Hall adding spawn - Cut strings on bales during bunker set up - Clean spigot floor - Clean pre wet sprinklers - Wash filling unit - Unload bales - Mix and load poultry manure - Clean pump filters - Complete straw paperwork - Conduct inventory count - Delivers skids of empty boxes / lugs / trays to the harvest rooms in a timely manner - Obtains completed pallets of harvested product and delivers to the scanning area - Scans trays and boxes of mushroom product into the database using barcodes and barcode reader - Responsible to ensure that the proper code for each type of mushroom is scanned into the database - Provides supplies and removes mushrooms from trolley, floor Harvesters as required - Carries mushrooms and stacks on skids - Verifies the Harvest Information Sheets against the actual product that has been received - Delivers scanned product to the packaging cooler or to the packaging line as required - Checks inventory daily - Ensures proper container counts to complete orders - Checks weights and quality when removing harvested product from the rooms - Reports quality concerns to supervisors - Responsible for keeping cooler clean, organized, and ensuring product is rotated - Assists with cooler and inventory counts - Assists with harvest sanitization when needed - Embrace and support the Highline culture and values, acting as a brand ambassador at all times - Interact with others in a manner that promotes respect, confidentiality and dignity - Develop and actively foster an engaged work force, displaying professionalism at all times - Adheres to the Safety Policies, including use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment - Reports unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor - Reports all incidents, injuries and near misses to the supervisor immediately - Cooperates in the Early and Secure Return to Work Program if an injury or medical illness requires accommodation - Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) as trained - Adheres to all quality standards per customer specifications - Performs any other duties as assigned Vacancy: 9 Hours of work: - 5 to 6 days / week - Approximately 30 to 60 hours per week / 8 to 14 hours per day - Public holidays/weekends as scheduled - Daily shift end time vary based on production needs Earnings: - $19.38-$23.19 Hourly Benefits: - Extended Health & Dental and Vision for Associates and their eligible family members - Life Insurance and Dependent Life Insurance - Short term disability - Annual boot allowance / safety shoe reimbursement - Discretionary bonus, annual wage grid reviews and years of service increases Locations of Work: - 3392 224th Street, Langley, BC V2Z 2G8 - 38050 Atkinson Road, Abbotsford, BC V3G 2G6 - 1735 256th Street, Aldergrove, BC V4W 2E1 - 28243 Townshipline Road, Abbotsford , BC V4X 1P6 - 28424 Townshipline Road, Abbotsford, BC V4X 1P1 - 38061 Atkinson Road, Abbotsford, BC V3G 2G6 Qualifications: - NO LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS - Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with no restrictions - Must be 16 years of age - Previous experience at mushroom farm, in agriculture/horticulture required - Previous experience with forklift or training operating heavy equipment considered an asset These positions are represented by the Union How to Apply: 1.
